In Slavic mythology, Veles, the third face of Swarog, is the God of the underworld, the darkness, the animals and the roots. He is also the God of magic, wisdom and abundance. As the Moon’s God, he decides which soul goes to the sun, stay on the moon or go back to Earth to be a human again or a spirit.
The cat is one of the totems of Veles. He is more attached to a place than to the people. He protects the inhabitants and he keep evil spirits away.
