“John came out of the woods, free from preconceptions and preconceived ideas. He comes with an agonizing lucidity that

With 30 years old, born in the Amazon, he ventures into the world of painting, street art, music and everything that allows him to create a world of his own, where he can create without limitations. Stimulated by nature, by the simplicity characteristic of an inland city he leads us to ramble through the lives with which he crossed along the way, guiding us and making us lost through references and influences of travel, skateboarding, pure experiences and disturbing issues. It is colours, traces and masks that Jhon says to collect from lives not lived. He lives to avoid
convenience and the guarantees that they want to impose us. Without direct artistic references, he creates his own language constructing and deconstructing what is necessary to awaken us to Nature, for what
it is pure, for what is proper to us, without camouflaged lies. “

Jhon Douglas is a multi-disciplinary artist. His visions of the world appear in paintings distributed by galleries and museums, in audio-visual productions and musical compositions that are spread out in several places such as Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay and also in Portugal. After a season of “out of date” in his hometown in Vilhena, Rondônia State, in the Brazilian Amazon, he is again in Lisbon for a new season of experiences. In his recent visits to the Portuguese capital, Jhon has already presented exhibitions, concerts and sculptures in several galleries, also starting his musical career, performing concerts with compositions written about his coming from Amazon and his relationship with the European continent.
