For 4 years, Claire Beilvert and the director Alexandre Dereims had the extraordinary opportunity, with the tribe’s full consent and cooperation, to spend several weeks with the Jarawas (Andaman Islands, India) filming the documentary “We are Humanity”. From this gathering resulted the photo book “Jarawas” and the exceptional photographs that ethiCollective offers you.
The Jarawas, along with the Sentinels and the Angels are the last Afro-Asian peoples and the oldest on Earth. They live in a non-hierarchical society based on equality, individual freedom, autonomy, sharing, dialogue and transparency. They are responsible for their actions and are able to find consensus in decisions taken together because they trust each other, are creative and resilient, and share a common project that unites them – the prosperity of their clan.
