Sibomana (1986) is an Italian -Belgian artist based in Rome, Italy, that grew up among different countries and cultures, such as DR Congo, Rwanda, Belgium and Italy. Sibomana began doing graffiti in the early 2000’s and in 2009 he got in Brussels a degree in graphic design.
He works in several countries, most often in the streets, catching people’s attention. His artistic technique makes use of black and white photographs and bright color painting. The message of his artworks is clear: to educate people on the integration between different cultures.
With the project Waves of the Heroes, initiated in 2015, Sibomana drew posters on immigration in the main cities of the European migrant routes. This posters can be seen in in Lesvos Island, Athens, Istanbul, Rome, Berlin and London.
In 2016, he created a project with Kurema Kureba Kwiga (Art Collective from Rwanda) in Kigali, wich resulted in a series of twenty six portraits by ten different artists, reminding us the sacrifice and bravery of refugees. Sibomana makes mural interventions around the world for years. His numerous artworks can be seen in Belgium, DR Congo, Rwanda, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Germany and UK.
His latest project Children of the Sea includes a solo exhibition on migration at Explora Museum, in Rome, Italy.
